Roma is currently a professor in the Bioscience department at Merritt College, where she serves as the education coordinator and teaches Advanced Microscopy and Histology. Merritt College is one of two Histology programs in California and she prides on her ability to help students prepare for their HT and HTL certification exams. Roma is also a certified Histotecnologist with the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC). 

 

Prior to working at Paseo Education, she was math tutor at Compass Prep and Bay Area Learning Partners where she tutored over 100 students in grades ranging from 4th to 12th grade. She has worked to help students prepare for tests such as the SAT, ACT, AP Calculus, AP Physics, SSAT, HSPT, and SAT Math Subject Tests. She has also been an academic support tutor for AP & College level Calculus, Geometry, Algebra II, AP Chemistry and AP Biology. In addition, Roma has experience working with students with neuro divergences such as ADHD, autism, OCD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, hard of hearing, and OCD. 

 

Roma enjoys working as a math instructor because she loves solving puzzles and working with people. She has enjoyed math since she was a child and loves seeing students with the same passion that she had as a kid. Roma's teaching philosophy is to keep class fun and incorporate humor and joy into each lesson. 

 

For hobbies, she loves playing basketball, swimming and pilates. She also have two kittens that she loves dearly named Curie (named after Marie Curie) and Kuiper (named after Gerard Kuiper).
